ARTS, CULTURE, & COMMUNITY AT ST ANDREW’S CHURCH
“St. Andrew’s Is Your Place, Too”
A whole-hearted “Thank You!” to the Vermont Arts Council for the generous Cultural Facilities grant that has partially funded recently completed renovations to our sanctuary! This generous grant enabled us to bring a full quarter of the space in our sanctuary back into use, both for Sunday services and for our Arts, Culture, and Community activities. We are very grateful, and look forward to bringing our space into even greater use for participatory arts and community gatherings.
But “St. Andrew’s Is Your Place, Too” ! Are you looking for a place to put on a concert? Host a weekly book club discussion? Have a cribbage tournament? Offer tango lessons? Well, St. Andrew’s is Your Place, Too. Contact us at StAndrewsInVt@gmail.com.

MONTHLY BLUEGRASS JAM
Held on the 1st Wednesday of each month from October through May. This community Bluegrass Jam is presented in partnership with Catamount Arts and welcomes “jammers” of all ages and abilities, providing a low-pressure opportunity for people to play as part of a group. Also welcome are enthusiastic listeners, and singing along is encouraged! If you’re interested in participating but unsure or hesitant, contact us at StAndrewsInVt@gmail.com for a list of songs and some encouragement!
As with most of our activities, the event is free but donations encouraged.
The St. Johnsbury Community Contra Dance series kicked off in October of 2024, and dances planned for the 4th Sunday in the month, from 4 to 7pm, in October and November, and then January through May. This series is designed to have something for everyone, from the complete novice to very experienced dancer. To keep up to date on the details for each dance, follow our Facebook page.
COMMUNITY SINGS
Community Sings bring people of all ages and skill levels together to create beautiful music. There are no expectations for these fun, energetic events other than to create a marvelous, joyful noise. No experience is necessary and the only prerequisite is a love of music and song — Everyone is welcome & Everyone Sings!
Held Quarterly and in Partnership with Catamount Arts, the series kicked off in December with a Community Carol Sing and was followed in March by a “Beatles” sing, in June with Songs of the 60’s, and now with Songs of the 70’s planned for October 20th. Based on the happy glow on people’s faces, this series is a resounding success!
Do you have an idea or request for a Community Sing? Let us know at StAndrewsInVt@gmail.com!
The St. Andrew’s Community Coffeehouse Concert series, presented in partnership with Catamount Arts, is held monthly from October through May. Hosted by renown singer-songwriter Bob Amos in a cool coffee house setting, each concert showcases the best of up-and-coming and regional performers. Admission is by donation with a suggest amount of $10 to $15 per person, but any amount is gratefully received. Café St. A has “small plates” as well as coffee and tea available for purchase, and Catamount Arts has a full array of beverages available for purchase as well. Doors open at 6:15 pm so you can find a spot at a candle-lit table, get something to eat and drink, and socialize with friends before the concert kicks off at 7pm.
